I have a lot on my plate this month so I decided to start with my Christmas Ornament. This is a free design available from Miriam's blog listed in the Kerstballen category, design by Nita Bishop. I forget at the moment who posted the double sided ornament for January but I really liked it as you can see. Blackwork Butterfly ornament on 14 ct Victorian Red/18 ct Snow White Aida. I didn't even realize I had picked up the smaller count white fabric until after my stitching was done, but, it's just for me so I can live with it. I used DMC 498 for the red stitches as it is almost an exact match for the red aida fabric. I didn't intentionally do two blackwork red ornaments in a row, but it is getting the most out of this fabric remnant (LOL).
